Swallows

SOONER OR LATER WE HAVE TO PAY FOR WHAT WE DO

Three women are about to be involved in a life-or-death situation. Mami, an exotic dancer, is about to leave that life to go with her boyfriend, a journalist, to live by the sea. He has his trip planned; an escape in reality, as soon as he publishes the evidence that could destroy the career of a powerful corrupt politician, but fate - a hit man - catches up with him. When she arrives for Mami, she only has time to hand a key ring in the shape of a swallow to La Niña, a little girl who lives on the street and has the generosity of the neighborhood whom he and Mami adore as their daughter. The hit man kills the journalist and La Niña flees seeking asylum with Matilde, a mature woman who lives locked up after the murder of her son. La Niña is her only contact with the outside world when she brings her daily purchases. Matilde calls Mami to pick up La Niña, but, like the journalist, fate decides otherwise, more because Matilde seems to have a past with the politician. The three women, knowing that their lives are at stake, flee together, although Matilde finds an opportunity to leave them and give them time to escape. The relentless pursuit of the hit man brings them together again and they end up hiding in the journalist's house by the sea. Fear, at first, and coexistence gradually turn them into a family, one that is put to the test as soon as the hit man finds them. The past that weighs is that of Matilde -the politician's former wife-, and the reason for killing them is that the keychain in the house hides a USB with evidence against the politician. It remains to be seen how much loyalty they have and what they are willing to do more than to defend their own lives, to defend their family.
